The Cape Town suburb of Sun Valley lies on the slopes of the Silvermine Nature Reserve, in the beautiful Fish Hoek valley. Follow the Cape Peninsula round from the V&A Waterfront along a beautiful, scenic drive and you will land in Sun Valley, just before the road continues on towards either Noordhoek/Kommetjie or Cape Point.
The Silvermine Nature Reserve is part of the Table Mountain National Park and is home to a variety of plant species. A number of walking trails traverse the reserve or you can picnic around the sides of the dam within the reserve - a wonderfully picturesque and relaxing way to spend hot, summer days.
The nearby suburb of Fish Hoek offers one of the safest, long, sandy beaches in the Cape for bathing and body boarding and from July to October, whales come right into Fish Hoek bay to play in the waters, just 50 m from the shore.
