Parklands is one of the fastest growing suburbs in Cape Town's Blaauwberg/Blouberg Municipality. Only a stone's throw from the beautiful Blouberg beaches, Parklands offers wonderful panoramic views of Table Mountain, Robben Island and sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean.
The beach is well known for kite and wind surfing. Other popular outdoor activities are mountain and quad biking, sand boarding and abseiling. Day outings include a trip up Table Mountain (in the cable car or along hiking trails), a ferry ride to Robben Island or a visit to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. There are two golf courses in the area and Grand West casino is close by.
One can easily access the Cape West Coast route (R27) from Parklands and young and old alike will be captivated by a visit to a local ostrich farm or reptile park en route. A section of this route is also famous for its wild flowers, prolific in winter and part of the Cape West Coast Biosphere Reserve, one of four protected biospheres in South Africa.
