Farrarmere is a peaceful Benoni suburb which is located only a short distance from Johannesburg central. Two of the key features of Benoni are the abundance of trees and the reservoirs and lakes that dot the area. Farrarmere and the rest of the Benoni area have their beginnings as a small mining town and over the years thousands of trees have been planted, giving the area its leafy, green suburban garden appearance and water from the mines was channelled into marshlands to create dams and lakes full of fish. The boundaries of Farrarmere border on the shores of some of these bodies of water, two of which are Homestead Lake and Middle Lake.
The suburb boasts shaded tree lined streets, litter free pavements and spacious homes with large yards. The atmosphere is peaceful and quiet lending the area a mellow appearance.
Situated in close proximity to all Benonis attractions and amenities, visitors have easy access to surrounding areas and medical facilities such as the nearby Medicross. Farrarmere also has its own community security service keeping residents safe and secure.
Staying in Farrarmere you are never far from shops, restaurants and travel routes including highways. In the greater Benoni area alone Farrarmere has access to the East Rand Mall and Lakeside Mall, Benoni Country Club and golf course and the Benoni Sailing Club. Central Johannesburg is only 30 kilometres away and the OR Tambo International Airport is a mere 20 kilometres from Farrarmere. In a nutshell, Farrarmere is central to everything you need yet far enough from the never sleeping city centre to be a cosy suburban haven.
