Constantia Kloof

The small suburb of Constantia Kloof is part of the Roodepoort Municipality and is situated on the West side of Johannesburg between Constantia Park and Ontdekkers Road. As the name suggests, the Constantia Kloof sits in a cleft in Constantia Ridge, a small koppie just off the N1 highway. Constantia Kloof has its own primary school and is close to the Technikon South Africa. The suburb has a very active Residents' Forum, which is very crime conscious.

Just a few blocks away from Constantia Kloof is the Kloofendal Nature Reserve which is run by the Roodepoort Parks and Recreation Department. This reserve is home to numerous flora species including orchids, proteas and indigenous trees. There is a stone amphitheatre used for open-air events and a walking trail takes the visitor past old gold mining shafts and other places of interest. There is a varied bird population including several raptor species. The suburb is very close to the 14th Avenue off ramp to the N1 highway.
