Tarlton is a small town in Gauteng in South Africa. It is nearby to many attractions and there are some beautiful getaways for the whole family in the area. It is a quiet, peaceful area with beautiful scenic views.

One of the nearby attractions is the Sterkfontein Caves which is a fascinating place to visit. The caves are in the limestone quarries and are known to have been formed as far back as 20 to 30 million years ago. It is something that you have to witness for yourself to experience the true beauty of the caves. Another outing for the whole family is the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve which is popular amongst locals and visitors. The reserve boasts over 600 large game and you will be able to see lion, white rhino, buffalo, cheetah and many other animal species. The reserve is open every day and is a must while in the area.

Tarlton is situated in Gauteng which enjoys warm to hot summer months with thunderstorms in the afternoons which is usually accompanied by hail. The winter days are sunny but cool with temperatures dropping considerably in the evenings.
