Mokopane, previously known as 'Potgietersrus' is a farming suburb in Limpopo and is rich in wheat, maize, fruit and many more.

The Lapalala Wilderness Game Reserve is well known for its environmental school that teches South Africans about nature conservation. There are many species of bird and animals to view such as hippo, crocodile and buck. There are bush drives available and should not be missed while visiting Mokopane. There are many reserves to visit and the Marakele National Park is one of the most beautiful places to visit as they have game drives for everyone and you will get to view some of the big five animals such as Hippo, Giraffe and Impala. There are also 4x4 trails and hiking trails in the area.

Mokopane enjoys hot to very hot summer months with most rainfall as afternoon thunderstorms. Winter months are generally cool to warm and sunny during the day with temperatures dropping considerably in the evenings.
