Annlin
Annlin is a beautiful green and leafy suburb which lies just outside Pretoria, South Africa. The suburb is conveniently situated with easy access to the N1. Annlin offers locals and visitors a breathe of fresh air, it is only 10 minutes away from the city itself. It is popular amongst local families and holiday makers. The suburb also has stunning scenic views as it lies at the foot of the Magaliesburg Mountains. The area is growing all the time.
Attractions:
There is so much to see and do and with the suburb having easy access to the N1, attractions in nearby areas are easy to enjoy. The Wonderboom Nature Reserve is a very beautiful reserve and the whole family will enjoy this day out. It is a 1,000 year old wild fig tree located on the northern slopes of Magaliesberg, near the Apies River just north of Pretoria. At the centre of the Wonderboom tree stands the original tree trunk, over 5m thick, truly fascinating to see.
Another great outing for the whole family is The National Zoological Gardens has something exciting for all ages and small children will enjoy the petting zoo at the farmyard. The Zoo offers a Zoo Choo-Choo, golf carts and childrens push carts for hire for those weary legs. There is a popular cable way where you can get a bird’s eye view of the Zoo grounds.
The Pretoria's Union Building are one of the most recognized buildings in South Africa. The Union Building itself is not open to the public, as it houses the offices of the President of South Africa. But the building's impressive architecture and beautiful surrounding gardens are well worth the visit.
There is so much more to see and do from museums, heritage sites and theatres. Weekends are always full of activities.
Climate:
Annlin is situated in Pretoria which enjoys warm to hot summer days with most rainfall as afternoon thunderstorms. The winter months are dry and cool with temperatures dropping considerably in the evenings.
