The Swellendam Golf Club, located in the picturesque town of Swellendam in the Overberg region of the Western Cape, offers an inviting course set against the backdrop of the Langeberg Mountains. Designed and built by Ken Elkin in 1947, this course continues to test all levels of golfers and offers a good variety of difficulty. The club features a 9-hole course that can be played as an 18-hole round by utilizing alternate tee boxes. It is characterized by well-maintained fairways, tree-lined holes, and a few strategically placed bunkers, making it enjoyable and moderately challenging for both seasoned and novice golfers.
The course meanders through beautiful natural scenery, enhancing the experience for golfers with stunning views and a tranquil setting. The layout caters to both social and competitive play, while the clubhouse provides a welcoming space for post-round relaxation. The club frequently hosts tournaments and social events, fostering a warm and inclusive community spirit.
Open to the public 7 days a week, the clubhouse is open daily from 07h30 to 19h00, except on Sundays (08h00 to 17h00).
